POLICE in Midlands have captured a 43-year-elderly person in Shurugwi suspected to be behind a carjacking occurrence and burglary of property worth USD$517 790.
Midlands commonplace police representative Emmanuel Mahoko said the suspect, Panganai Sithole, looted Levison Chakawa (23) and Joshua Chakawa (47) of Hertfordshire, Gweru of a Toyota IST vehicle after he had been offered a lift from Masvingo to Shurugwi.
"After going for a distance, Panganai created a Pistol and got the driver requesting cash. Joshua got away from the vehicle and fled. The suspect assumed control over the vehicle and drove away towards Shurugwi. A report was made to the police. On 20 October 2021 a clue was gotten such that the speculated taken vehicle had been located in Shurugwi collective region," Mahoko said.
"Police followed up on the data and recuperated the vehicle which had been painted with various shading and its number plates eliminated. Further examinations were completed prompting the capture of the denounced Pangani Sithole at his safe-house in Masvingo," said Mahoko.
Police recuperated electrical devices a PC, 64 gig memory stick, ipad tablet cellphone, Huawei tablet, vehicle keys, vehicle number plates and a silver shower gun.
