A man was shot inside the Union Square train station in a clear bungled theft during the Monday evening busy time - and some speedy reasoning cops helped save the man's life, police said.

Cops said the 42-year-old casualty was on board a northward N train when he was drawn closer by the future cheat soon after 5 p.m. on Oct. 25. The injured man was raced to Bellevue Hospital and stays in stable condition while the shooter ran away from the area and stays at large.

"I'm simply glad that I came into work today and really had an effect," said Officer Pardiu, adding that he was apprehensive however while others would runaway from unrest, officials are prepared to run towards it.
